Annapolis City Marina, Annapolis, MD – 5/17/12

Thursday morning was “act like a tourist” day.

Water Taxi

We took the water taxi ($2 each) to the other side of the creek and disembarked at Ego Alley to explore the city. The thing we like to do in a new city is to find the tour trolley so we can see all the sights then go back and do the ones we want.

Alex Haley & Ricki

On our way to the visitor center to catch the trolley we had to stop and talk to Alex about his “Roots”

The Captain & Friend

Then we had to discuss politics with our friend.

Typical Annapolis Street

Little Paths between Buildings

The Democrats have taken over

My Republican first mate was disappointed to see this sign.

Made it to the visitors center to catch the trolley.

Episcopal House

The tour guide said the top two floors are occupied by 8 old Episcopal ladies which due to a trust fund, the house will always be used for that purpose.

Overlook at the Naval Academy

The tour trolley stopped at the hill overlooking the academy.  Rumor has it that the road on the left of the picture had the name of “oh sh..t”  since when the midshipmen were returning back from leave to the academy on this road and topped the hill, that is what they said.

Maryland State House

Our first stop on our walking tour was the Maryland State House.
