Far Out Man!

The crew of Emily Grace is way out there! As in we are mighty close to the one place on Earth that is the farthest away from any land. I googled that fact before we left the Galapagos and, sure enough, it’s a spot in the Pacific Ocean. The actual sp…

Lagos to Vilamoura

What bliss to finally have a mooring without the swell!  Calm at last and a lovely marina, surrounded by smart bars and restaurants.  Unfortunately, it is a bit “Brit”ish but the town is immediately adjacent and a delight to wander through.&n…

What do we see? We see the sea!

Two gulls have moved aboard and nothing we can do, short of wringing their necks, will make them go away. They are crapping all over the deck. Everything is good on Lone Wolf. The sea is eerily calm and deep blue, and all systems are go. We have covere…

A Kick up the Arse.

Big tings a g’wann. I’ve been down to the boat absolutely loads lately, as B and I are working on something radical which will hopefully bear fruit next week. So it’s been all go with me making regular forays boatways to prepare, either long day …

Okeechobee to Charleston (Apr 16 to Jun 21)

Ack! I’ve almost failed the first grandma test. The proud papa-to-be was disappointed that there was no baby picture included in the last blog posting. Never mind that this omission was solely due to my low level of technical ability. So here, at minu…

Lake Park to Ft. Pierce, FL
Today was an easy cruising day and we simply enjoyed. We cruised by North Palm Beach,

Jupiter,

Hobe Sound,
St. Lucie Inlet,

and north on the Indian River to Ft. Pierce – approximately 50 miles. We started at 8:00 and got to the Ft. Pierce City Marina at 2:00. We fueled up and pumped out and were to our slip and settled by 3:00. We needed 378 gallons – that’s the most yet and the lowest we have let our tanks get. This is another friendly marina with helpful staff and nice facilities – and they give a great discount to Boat US members. Ft.PierceCityMarina also has an adjacent attractive waterfront and park – a good walk for Porter.

We still enjoyed many beautiful homes and yachts, but also long areas of natural waterways lined with homes and/or wildlife refuges.

We saw many homes being built or renovated. One for sale – maybe if we all chip in…..

We did wait for the first bridge to open, but were able to slip under all others.

Best of all – we were joined by two dolphins in the JensenBeach area that swam with us for over three miles. Porter even heard them and watched with ears up and head cocked.

Dolphins really do smile.
